Making Friends

Travelling up to Tobermory was a lot of fun. Along the route (Highway 6) there were lots of local artisans and we stopped off at the Indian Craft Stop along the route and Cha Mao Zah. Both were family run and we loved the beautiful handmade arts and crafts.
The dogs also loved the owners and on our second run to Tobermory we stopped off at Cha Mao Zah. One of the most beautiful places we stopped at. Les took time to do little necklaces for the children and showed them some wood burning. He also fell in love with Uly. He had never met a Leonberger but I think he found his soul dog. Uly took such a liking to Les and didn't want to leave. We wanted to stop a second time to say by to
Les and his wife Jennifer but the kids were exhausted after two hikes along the Bruce Trails we ran out of time. We told them if they really wanted to find out more about Leonbergers (we gave them an Leonberger Club of Ontario card with the website) and invited to come down and join us for Leopalooza in September.
I think Uly has found a second home when we travel up north. Les and Jennifer had a mastiff so they loved our two friendly giants.
Tobermory is definitely a place we will come back too and so is Cha Mao Zah. A long time ago I found out that my totem animals were a wolf, followed by a salmon. With this trip I also found myself drawn to the beautiful carved Great Horned Owl and George was drawn to turtles and the children each picked out their own special items. I found a walking stick with my wolf. The nicest part of the visit was the hospitality and kindness we were shown by both families.
