Tobermory

I think the biggest hit with the kids and the dogs were driving north up to Tobermory. We went up twice so that we can do everything we wanted too. The drive up was great. The first day we explored the town and the kids loved The Sweet Shop with fresh ice cream and candy. The dogs loved all the attention they received from the locals and tourists. They were more than happy to stop and be patted while we answered questions and let people take pictures of Uly and Janey.
We also saw a lot of dogs and they had fun meeting our guys who were on their best behaviour. We checked out the art galleries, shops and walked along the pier.
We decided to return to go on one of the tours to flower pot island. We went on the Zephyr I and although it was a tight squeeze the dogs were fine and enjoyed the couple of hours on the water. Uly especially loved the attention people gave him and he was up beside up feeling the spray of water and even stuck his head out the sides to get more water. I think he enjoyed looking at the shipwrecks in the harbour. When the craft stopped over top the wrecks Uly jumped up and looked overboard to see what everyone was looking at. Afterwards more browsing and being stopped by people on the pier to meet the dogs.
More ice cream and bought some fresh caught white fish for our dinner. We met a wonderful lady that lived in Tobermory who was a retired police officer who had Doberman's all her life. She loved Uly and Janey and told us to visit the Purple Dog Shop down the street. We did and bought some homemade dog cookies. The lady who runs the shop (small world) mentioned that her dad was at the All About Pets Show in Toronto at the Canadian legends booth with his Nova Scotia Duck Tollers. Well I met her dad two years ago with his Tollers. Sometimes the world gets smaller the further you travel.
